Seminole Canyon & Big Bend Ranch State Parks
We needed to hike. That was the mandate as we made our way back to the Southwest. We were feeling weak and lazy, it had been almost two months since our last hike, and we needed a place to strap our boots on. Seminole Canyon State Park was on the way to Big Bend National Park and had a nice 8-miler, so we stayed the night at this overlook of the Pecos River.

Big Bend National Park gets its own blog post (up next), but this state park came after. It’s geared more towards backcountry camping and off-roading, but there’s still a scenic drive through the south portion along the Rio Grande.
