Acadia National Park
This is the only National Park in New England, and it’s a place I’ve wanted to go for a while. We didn’t get the timing quite right for fall color (as it turns out, the coast is one of the last regions to turn), but we got a couple good hikes in and found some nice coast to explore.
Here’s a true story: we were sitting outside at our campground, and I was being mopey. Sometimes I just get in a funk and wonder if I actually even enjoy photography. Then I saw this little squirrel running around gathering pine cones and I thought, “I’m going to get a photo of him”. I watched for a bit, got an idea of his route, set up and waited, and sure enough he stopped right where I wanted. That’s when I remembered that I really do enjoy this. Thanks squirrel!

Western Point Overlook
This rocky shore was easily accessible from our campsite, so I got to visit it a few times. Normally I don’t like presenting multiple photos of the same thing, but I thought it might be interesting to show the same place under different lighting conditions. These were all taken around sunset on two different evenings.
