Pinnacles National Park

A relatively new National Park (established in 2013), it’s also not very big (or at least the hikable part isn’t). You can see most of the park in two big hikes. We really enjoyed our time there, especially some of the cave descents and a freezing walk through knee-deep snowmelt. I didn’t take many (good) photos in the park, but here’s a couple phone shots to give you an idea of the place.

I did take the time for a short bird walk one evening, and was rewarded with the sight of this Red-shouldered Hawk hunting and eating a lizard.
